Pat strives to make unique wines which are multi-dimensional in character, and his philosophy of winemaking is one that relies heavily on the quality of a wine's flavors and balance. "Wine is fascinating - so many different flavors in one beverage," say Pat. "The more attractive flavors, the better. I feel particularly fortunate to be able to work with fruit coming from the southern part of the Sonoma Valley, an area blessed with 'banana-belt'-type characteristics. Having access to fruit of this caliber makes my job all the more enjoyable, and certainly easier!"

When he is not working away crafting his ultra-premium varietals in the cellars of the Valley of the moon, Pat can usually be found working on the "fixer-upper" he and his wife Stefanie recently purchased in the area. He is also an avid traveler and mountain climber. A member of the American Society of Enologists and Viticulturists, Pat also taught courses in Basic Winemaking at Santa Rosa Junior College for three years.
