1998 Valley of the Moon
Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

Sonoma County Chardonnay

Wine Description
FRUIT AROMAS OF BLACK CURRANTS AND DRIED CHERRIES WITH A BACKGROUND OF DUSTY SOIL AND FRENCH OAK. SUBTLE TANNINS WITH A SLIGHT MINTY AFTERTASTE.

Winemaker Notes
Our debut Cabernet Sauvignon originates from grapes grown in both the Sonoma & Alexander Valleys, two of Sonoma County's premier Cabernet growing regions. This complex wine is characterized by a careful balance of fruity and aromatic flavors followed by firm yet subtle tannins. The fruit for this wine was harvested in late September/October after 1998's long growing season. Following fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine was aged for twenty-four months in both French and American oak barrels.

Food Recommendations
This robust wine is well paired with hearty dishes such as stews, roasted meats, duck and lamb.
