"It all starts in the vineyard."

Sonoma is blessed with abundant sunshine and moderating coastal temperatures, ideal conditions for growing premium food-friendly wines.

Quality here begins in the vineyard, with a thorough viticulture tradition as rich and deep as the soil in which our grapes are grown.

For generations we’ve worked with select growers in Sonoma County—some for almost a century—who know the value of careful stewardship of the land. On our own estate we have old Zinfandel vines dating to the 1930s, as well as more recent plantings of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, and Barbera. We employ low impact viticulture practices to preserve the diversity of our natural surroundings without compromising the quality of fruit.

Every block from each vineyard is handled separately, with the specific attention to detail required in premium winemaking. The results are high quality grapes reflective of the unique Sonoma soils in which they grow.
